1. Le Bar Dix
or what we call 'the sangria spot'
A local dive preserved since 1955 serving the best sangria in town. It'd be hard to find something more ‘real’, this tiny cave venue, covered in posters with jukebox playing tunes from the Goldman, Brassens and Ferré era. Menu is minimal but its ok you’ll mostly be ordering sangria or sangria. Cheap. MAP

2. Boulangerie Mauclerc Veronique
Get the pistachio buns
A rare bakery using a wood-burning oven, famed for its fabulous breads and delicious Pistachio buns. Positively dreamy inside steeped in tradition with poetic words such as Eclair Chantilly Frasies, Pistache Amandes noisettes and pain à l'épeautre. Located in the 19th, at Butte Chaumant park. MAP
3. Cent Quatre
A cool Cultural space in Paris
A cool public art space in the 19th where artists of all types work in studios on site, allowing the public to view their work in production. Watch dancers and perfomers, work from your laptop (free Wi-Fi), have lunch at the Cafe Cache, second hand store, gift stores, great bookstore with regular author readings - it can easily become a favourite saturday morning spot. 4. Musee Gustav Moreau
Romantic and dramatic art
Amazing find- a delightful little museum dedicated to the works of symbolist French painter (9th district) combines the small private apartment of Gustav (1826-98). Utterly dramatic and beautiful with walls covered in Gustavs amazing and striking detailed art based mostly on myths and legends. MAP
5. Less Petite Joueurs
For authentic Parisian Gypsy Jazz night
Les Petits Joueurs is a bustling bistro with weekly Gypsy Jazz concerts. The biggest Jazz Manouche names in France are regulars here, eg Stephane Wrembel, who wrote the theme track for Woody Allen film, Midnight in Paris. Traditional French food. Concerts @ 9.00pm. Jam sessions @ 11pm MAP
