my new paris baby

Coucou friends!!

I feel like im constantly announcing new B&B! Oui, but I am! We have landed another 4 in the last 2 weeks alone :) Its so exciting and I really do feel as though each one is my new special little one! hehe

This latest addition to the 'Petite' family is so incredible. The 'like' ratings are going through the facebook roof! :D Its a complete package... in a nutshell:  You have your own private entry into your 2 bedroom apartment, ensuite bathroom, free wifi, delicious breakfasts served in the FABULOUS salon with sunny 30m balcony around the entire apartment! Foral and green and happy!

Martine your sweet hostess lives next door and offers guided tours of her secret spots in the neighbourhood and around Paris, as well as French lessons! (additional hrly cost)


And voila.. you are French! A complete immersion in French Culture, living in your own apartment and being able to speak French and see Paris through the eyes of a native!

Montparnasse Maison - new Paris apartment

How many times have you seen this colourful facade of the buildings in the 14eme; Montparnasse neighbourhood of Paris? (and featured in many French Movies)...

Our NEW Paris Studio apartment is here!! Inside this building located in a private lane from 1840. Quintessentially Parisian full of historic charm. Our new studio apartment is small and basic yet cosy and absolutely perfect.

A one room unhosted private apartment with bed, bathroom and kitchen. For me waking up one sleepy stumble away from kitchen is my idea of heaven haha! 

Full of light, the windows open on an inner courtyard. You will appreciate the quietness and enjoy the sounds of the birds chirping each morning.

Delphine your host is an actress and artist. She loves to meet new people and enjoys welcoming guests into her B&B studio. She lives upstairs in another apartment, easily accessible to guests should they need anything.

 

The kitchen is completely equipped with a table, chairs, microwave, refrigerator, hot plates, toaster, dishes and some food of first need such as : salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, rice, pasta.

In your room, you will also find a set for warm drinks (coffee, tea, herbal teas, granulated chocolate, milk), as well as documentation on Paris and storage spaces.

Breakfast
As Delphine often works late in the evening, she prefers to leave in your guest room all the necessary breakfast basics so that you can prepare breakfast by yourself. You will find milk, butter, orange-juice in the refrigerator, bread, brioche, jam and honey in the cupboard.

 

his studio is very centrally located with many well known and famous cafes, restaurants and museums nearby. It is also the area for the best open air fresh food markets. It is located 5 minutes (walk) from the Luxembourg Garden, 15 minutes (walk) from the Latin Quarter and the famous Mouffetard street, and 2 minutes (walk), Raspail subway station will take you directly to Boulevard Saint-Germain within 10 minutes. If you like to walk, within 10 minutes you will reach Rue de Rennes where you can shop all the way up to Boulevard Saint-Germain.

What is an Art B&B???

Eat, Live, Breathe, Sleep Art

Helping visitors get into the Paris art scene by allowing them to sleep in it!

Welcome to Petite Paris’ Art B&B’s!

 Alain isn’t your usual B&B host. But then a classic apartment with a modern slash retro slash vintage twist in the multicultural corridors of the 3^rd arrondissement of Paris isn’t your usual B&B.

Our room is located on the 4^th floor and is dominated by a convertible CINNA sofa from designer Claude Brisson, translucent multicoloured chandelier and a bright red fireplace. Opposite the bed is your breakfast station; a 1970s glass table with multi-coloured transparent stools and hanging about a collection of contemporary, ethnic and mythical paintings and mirrors. 

 

The second guest room is a continuation of bric-a-brac eclecticism with antique collectibles in each corner. A Louis-Philippe chest, a Vuitton trunk, a ligne roset bed, wooden masks, sculpture torso and more. It’s nothing over the top; it feels like staying with a particularly style-conscious friend.

Alain is a retired lawyer; he gave up his high-profile career for a healthier lifestyle and has been content ever since welcoming guests into his B&B. A lover of exhibitions and museums Alain is in the know with all the latest art events in Paris and passes his advice on to guests.

 

 What do we qualify as an art B&B? 

Anything related to art; maybe the studio of an artist such as our B&B once the home of Impressionist Pissarro; or Jean’s studio draped in collections from his uncle a former leader of the Sculpture studio ‘Beaux-Arts’; or simply a collectors house such as Anne and Jean-Luc’s with antics from the 19^th & 20^thC. 

Basically anywhere where you can sleep where there is Art.

So far there are 14 classified Art B&Bs from Petite Paris. Alain’s place offers a night of inspiration for 116euro per night for 2 people. But his apartment can cater up to 6 people in the 2 bedrooms and making use of the sofa lounge for 340euro per night (thats only 56euro each person p/n) View B&B here.

But in their role as B&B hosts, all are something of an endearing eccentric aunt or uncle. The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed as well as creative and harmonious.

1+1 = 2 Paris apartments

The second new Paris apartment on our growing website www.petiteparis.com.au is an extremely rare and quiet oasis in the 14th arrondissement - an area of Paris that has kept its old world authenticity and charm sans tourists...well almost! :) 

As a huge cinema fanatic your host offers you this B&B apartment decorated with cinema memorabilia throughout and a huge DVD library. A very uniquely decorated home, particularly the kitchen (a funny collection of metallic boxes and kitchen appliances from the 1950s).

 The guest room (with double bed) is separate to the hosts section of the home and therefore offers much privacy and independence. From the bedroom you have direct access to your private bathroom.

It also opens out onto a lovely quiet patio! Double doors evoke the memory of this former stable where the horses that would draw the hearses to Montparnasse cemetary once lived.
