Located in the Aquitane region of France, the Dordogne region of south-west France is one of the most beautiful and popular destinations in the country. Visit this beautiful region of France and discover the chateaux, beautiful medieval towns and villages, unspoiled countryside and prehistoric caves.

HOW to get there
Easy travel links by road and train to the Dordogne from the UK and Europe. Low cost airlines (Ryan air, FlyBe) operate to Bergerac but don't always offer the cheapest flights. It's sometimes cheaper to fly to Bordeux or Toulouse with British Airways or Air France. Car hire available in each of these.
BEST time to go
May June and September. The weather is almost always warm, sometimes as hot as summer. The roads are quieter and the attractions easier to visit, and most if not all restaurants will be open. In the spring, the countryside is more lush and the scenery even more beautiful.
